For Good, Clear Vision you eyes needs good exercise !

According to Dr Silas Amos an Ophthalmologist, he has
advised Nigerians to exercise their eyes daily in order to sustain good and
clear vision.
Amos of the Eye Unit, Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital,
Kaduna, said in an interview with Vanguard on Tuesday that some of the eye
exercises include regular blinking and tight closure of the eyes.
“Blinking regularly helps to avoid dryness and pains in the
eyes. You can also roll your eyes in clock wise and anti clock wise direction.

“Look at an advertisement or some written materials from a
far place and try to read them by focusing your eyes on them.”

Amos listed some conditions which may be harmful to the eyes
as consuming food containing monosodium glutamate, prolonged use of cell phone
and looking directly at the sun.
He said these usually burn off some tissues responsible for
clear vision.
The ophthalmologist advised Nigerians to always blink and to
maintain a distance of between 16 to 30 inches while watching television or
using computers and cell phones.
“Most importantly, give your eyes a break after working for
sometimes”, he said.
Amos also advised Nigerians on regular intake of carrots,
milk, berries, grapes, lemon, spinach, fish and black currants, saying it help
to correct defective eye sights.
