A pet owner who “died of a broken
heart” two months after his rescue dog was put down has left nearly £365,000 to
the RSPCA.
Bachelor Kevin Johnson’s aunt
Myfanwy Gillham, 90, said he never got over losing German shepherd Chelsea who
had suffered a stroke.
She said: “They bonded straight
away. We’re sure he died of a broken heart.”
Childless Kevin, 59, who worked
at a garden centre, left his savings and the proceeds from the sale of his
cottage in Puckeridge, Herts, to Southridge RSPCA centre in Potters Bar.
